The old Sheraton Hotel is imploded on Saturday, June 6, 2026, to make way for the new Americana by Loews Hotel in Arlington. The implosion marks the beginning of construction on the 507-room Americana by Loews Hotel north of Choctaw Stadium at 1500 Convention Center Drive.
